Now you have found us, why not take a look around and maybe pop in for a drink or a bite to eat. You are always assured of a warm welcome from Jacqui and Daisy.
The White Horse was opened as a beer house by James Simmonds, a foreman at the local cloth mill, around 1870. He had been given the building by his father almost 20 years earlier, but had extended it considerably by the time he opened the pub. The White Horse received a full licence in 1949.

"An exciting new adventure in ale & cider"
Dawkins Ales
First established in 2005 as the Matthews Brewing Co, acquired early 2010 by the Bristol group of independent pubs Dawkins Ales.
We are brewing all of the ex-Matthews permanent beers and many all-new recipes along with a newly-launched range of ciders made for us here in Somerset.
