In aid of Mentoring Plus
This is our 3rd go at having a big 4 day knees up with amazing bands, fab beer and various other goings on. Highlights this year include, The Mandrake Project, James Hollingsworth, Cute Looney and performing together for one night only The Oaksmoke Four (James Fagan, Nancy Kerr, Rob Holbren and Alan Burton). There'll be special guest appearances of staff members, world dance (some with swords!) and general excitement. On Family Day (20th July),we have a juggling beatbox compere plus entertainer Magic Matt and some very special guests from Bath City Farm. Add to that our wonderful range of around 40 rare and exciting beers and I think you'll agree, this has all the makings of a damn fine event.
Entry at all times is free, but we do hope you will buy a programme to help us raise as much for our charity as possible. This year it's the turn of the amazing Mentoring Plus, whose brilliant work with young people help them turn their lives around. Programmes cost £3 and list all the events and the beers. We hope to have programmes on sale from around a fortnight before the event.
On a practical note, parking is limited so if possible, we recommend you walk/cycle/come by train. We are about a 2 minute walk from Oldfield Park Station.
Come down and join the party!
Book Group MeetingCheck Book Group page for date |
Our book group, running since December 2005, is a friendly informal gathering meeting once a month(ish) on a Tuesday. We take it in turns to pick a book and then discuss our opinions at the group. There is no membership fee; all you need to do is read the book and turn up!The present book will be listed on this website or in the pub (apologies but sometimes we are slow at updating this so check dates). For more information on the last and next books just go to our Book Group section |
Irish Folk MusicEvery Wednesday evening, usually starting around 8.30 |
It's gurt great, still as popular as when we first started it, with musicians from the surrounding area, and occasionally even so far as Ireland! |
