The About Us Page
When we arrived at the Royal Oak in June 2005 it had been closed for 6 or 7 years and was about to become flats. The building was more building site than pub with only the outside walls standing. Inside there were no floors or ceiling, no bar, no toilets and we thought 'excellent, a blank canvas to work with'.
We built the pub, with the help of many friends and family, into our vision of what a pub should be. We wanted it to be the kind of place we'd feel comfortable drinking away the hours and it now seems that other people like it as well!
Along with the 10 handpumps offering a wide range of ever changing real ales, we have a lovely beer garden, food served most days (the times for which you can find down the left) and are a family-friendly pub.
